Five Good Reasons To Exercise
Many people associate exercise with weight loss, but there are lots of other health benefits you can get from moving your body regularly. Here are five of them.
People who suffer from chronic pain can be helped with a short burst of aerobic exercise. We’re talking 10 minutes at a time. That’s enough to release endorphins, which act as a pain reliever.
If you suffer from constipation, you’d be better off hitting the gym or going for a walk rather than taking laxatives. Moving your body helps food move through your system and may reduce straining associated with constipation.
Ironically, chronic fatigue syndrome can be helped by getting in some movement. Studies indicate that adding movement, up to 30 minutes a day for an average of five days a week help alleviate the symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome. For some, it may be enough to get them to resume more of a normal schedule.
For some people, moderate exercise, like power walking or running for 30 minutes a day can help improve symptoms of depression without medication. Keep up the exercise and can also keep the depression from returning.
Want to sleep better at night? Get some exercise during the day. The only important thing to note is that it’s crucial to avoid exercising too close to bedtime. For many, it takes an hour or two for the body to wind down from a workout.
There are tons more benefits to getting some regular exercise, but hopefully, these five reasons will inspire you to move your body a little more today than you did yesterday.
Here’s a new trick I recently learned to get in more movement during the work day. I set an alarm to go off every hour. Then I get up and walk 250 steps. It only takes about three minutes. And over the course of a regular workday, I’ve just added a 2000-step walk into my day, just three minutes at a time.
