If You Aren’t Drinking Lemon Water Yet
If you spend any time at all on social media, you’ve no doubt seen appealing, shapely glass pitchers filled with lemon slices. Or perhaps complex infographics defining all the benefits of drinking lemon water.
If you aren’t drinking lemon water yet, along with the healthy changes that go along with your adjustable gastric balloon, here are some reasons to incorporate the practice into your new, healthier habits.
Lemon water stimulates the liver. Since the liver serves as the body’s junk filter, a more efficient liver means your body is better able to filter out toxins and other nasty substances.
Lemon water will provide your body with Vitamin C, an antioxident that helps the body fight disease.
Another benefit of lemon water is that it helps balance the pH levels in your body.
Dealing with an upset stomach? Lemon water will help calm the distress and aid digestion.
As an alternative to consuming coffee and sugary drinks in the morning, lemon water provides all these benefits and also keeps you from starting your day jolted with caffeine and sugar.
Convinced to give it a try? First thing in the morning, drink two cups of room temperature or warm water with the juice of half a lemon. If the juice of half a lemon is too tart for you in the beginning, try adding just a teaspoonful at a time until your body adjusts. Avoid the seeds since they can be bitter. It’s a good idea to rinse your mouth after drinking lemon juice so it doesn’t eat away at the enamel on your teeth. And remember to use fresh-squeezed, not processed lemon juice.
Sometimes, small changes like these can lead to big health benefits. Try it for a few weeks and see if it works for you.
